ok so heres the deal i gotta friend who lowered the back of his ranger by flippin the leaf springs and it gave him a 7" drop not a flip kit just flippin the entire things upside down i he got hellacious camber and i dont want that so i thought wat if i flip them and then put 3 inch blocks to make it a 4" drop but i saw u can lift a ranger with blocks so its just an idea i need some help with thanks

correct me if im wrong but this sounds like it would ride like ass

I'm guessing he hasn't driven it yet? If you flip the entire spring you've only got one leaf and it's inverted. You're upward suspension movement is going to be insane and it's not going to be able to go anywhere. essentially if you put a rubber bump stop on the frame, that'll be your "spring". It will ride so terrible I'm not sure I can write the words in this single post. Every crack and bubble in the road will be a near bone jarring impact.

if you're looking for 4" of drop stick with the SUA (axle flip). it's not a bad splurge, like $100 at the absolute most for new perches. You will thank yourself when your in the drivers seat and I will thank you as a fellow driver on the road.

one last thing, whats this about Camber? this is the rear we're talking about here right?

haha yea i thought it would be a shitty idea thanks for the opinions tho

This would technically work if you took the springpacks apart and reversed the order of the springs. But I agree, the spring under axle idea is much better, you could even find an explorer rear and kill three birds with one stone, beefier axle, disc brakes, and spring under.

What I want to know is how the hell you get "hellacious camber" with a straight axle...

if you bent the axle, thats the only way i know to get a camber issue with a solid axle.

yea it bent his axel ................. sorry you jump to conclusions so quick

there is no way to get camber on a solid axle, there is no way that what he did would cause enough stress on the axle to bend it, will it ride like total ass, no questions asked there, ittll ride like ur on bricks for springs, the only way to have hellacious camber is if the wheel bearings on both sides of the axles were non existent.....if u want that much of a drop just do spring under and a block, thats a 5" drop and itll still ride decent

i appreciate it but it "messed" his "stuff" up and i guess i used hellacious a litte much at least a couple people aint total .... on here

This isn't the garage. Watch your language. I've mildly censored the above quotes. Don't start swearing and throwing a fit because you have no clue about camber and solid axles. Which can't happen.

I vote you get banned.
