Crawlin's Build Thread

I was looking at the same gettup for wheels, if you don't mind, how much did they end up costing you and how long did they take to get? PM me if you want

Just go to their website and it will tell you how much each will cost as you add or take away options, $125 is the base price per wheel. I spoke with Andy several times as well before I ordered clearing up some concerns I had. I did end up getting a bit of a break on the grooved tires, I'll have to find my invoice to get you an exact amount of what I paid.

Also, I did order on 5/3 and was told it could be up to three weeks untill delivery....I got them Tuesday 6/28, once they shipped they were here (Denver) in two days. They ran out of the rock rings that I wanted so apparently were waiting on their supplier to get them to finish my order and ship. When I called I was given the option to switch to another style but I said I didn't mind waiting. They were quick to respond to emails and phone calls during the entire process, and have a staff that is very knowledgeable about their product that can answer questions.

I understand these are a custom wheel and tire package and that it takes some time to put them together, and that in industry sometimes you have to wait for materials, parts, etc. Depending on what you order I would just confirm they have them in stock or expect to wait. Overall I feel it was quality worth waiting and is a good solid product.
Let me know if you have any other questions, and I will be sure to post up when I get it out on the trail and let you know how they perform.

That's very sexy. This truck is going to be beastly. But damn you crawlin.....you are making me want to work on my BII now. I view your thread like everyday hoping for updates, and it's starting to pull me away from my motorcycle projects.....

Thats how I feel when I look at your bike builds and my xs650 just sits as is.
Ill try to keep the updates coming for you.

Wish I had access to a blasting cabinet and a paint gun, sure would speed the process up, takes a bit of work to go from start to finish on the wheels, the shipping company lost my o-rings and valve stems so i am waiting on those.

Front lift brackets and coils along with steering setup sold to a friend to fund my Dana 60 build. The dana 35 and 8.8 are still for sale.

Put a boot on the doubler shifters, not fancy but it will keep out the heat and the noise.

finished the wheels up and got them assembled and aired up

I went with lightweight pvc inserts over the magnesium or rubber runflats that are used on the Humvees but the tire and wheel combo is still quite a bit heavier than my old 33"s on black steelies.

Then I focused on getting the rear axle ready to install, my plan is to have the SAS done by next weekend and roll it in the garage to do the rear axle and body work.

- Geometry adjusted for steering and kingpin Axis Inclination Angle - Resulting in a perfectly paralell surface between arms.

- They are the only Dana 60 arms that are raised for leafpack clearance!

Far from done,
Had quite a run around finding the right fasteners and getting sent incomplete orders and the wrong parts from online vendors, time and time again....

Kingpins look great despite have trashed the passenger side bushing.

I will have more to update tomorrow, and this weekend!

looking good. now i gotta go back and resart this thread cause apparently i missed alot

the front axle has been moved forward quite a bit, I will need to either move my steering box or maybe use a Yota box, etc. Doing this sounds like a bit of a headache, piecing together a box/pitman arm setup, reaming the arm, making the frame mods.I'd like to go with a single ended ram full hydro setup if I can piece it together relatively cheap, we will see. I pulled the front axle out to move the shackle hangers, looks like I will have to get creative with the cab mounts because it is going to be pretty tight in that area. I have some ideas to strengthen the spring hanger as well but I will wait untill I have the axle permanantly in place to do that.

id just install the u bolts then cut them after. that way when you take the nuts off it cleans the threads. ive always just used an 4 1/2 angle grinder

Yep. That would be the easiest.

Front axle is in, I had to cut off the middle cab mounts and fab new ones.

Installed new bearings, races, and seals in the 14B hubs, also got the disc swap finished.

Installed new studs, set wheel bearing preload, put the shafts back in and just need to run the hard lines and the axle assembly will be ready for install.
