sweet truck man. atleast your tire stayed on the onlything that kept mine on was my brake calaber bracket haha very scary.

Gotta remember to repack your bearings!

I just serviced em recently, I must have got a seal in crooked or something??? My caliper slides were almost completely pushed out of place. could have something to do with snow bashing at 30 mph...

Where can one get a cheap spindle nut conversion? Part number? I checked all the old threads and tech library stuff on the subject but all the part stores either didnt have it or wanted over $100 for the kit.:thefinger:

Get the prices on the Dana 44 TTB spindle nuts. They are the EXACT same as the Dana 35 and usually about $15-$20 per side.

d44ttb?, Ok I had thought they were the same thanks mjonesjr.

Yea, the Dana 44 TTB found in F-150's and Bronco's.

I have a set, but the little locking pins are sheared off on the inner nuts. If you can find a new dowel stick in the hole they would be good to go.

found them across town at a ford stealership. 20.00 a set

thanks mike, luckily I was in the far right lane, anywhere else and there would have been an accident with as many cars as were on the road....it went with no warning at all and immediately steered me hard to the shoulder. Actually I thought I had a flat tire at first. There was a guard rail so I couldnt pull off but after a few seconds it straightened out for the most part and I was able to safely get off the interstate to check it out. Fried the inner spindle lock nut, disc and bearings. I had to take it off in one big chunk from the spindle out. luckily i have alot of spares.

The road to my grandfathers farm in Northeast Nebraska. The snow was cleared by payloaders and then by a snow plow. Traffic is one way. Forgive my uncle, he drives a chevy.
