Cranks, NO Start, Somtimes

1994 4.0 cranks but will not start. I pulled the #1 plug wire to see if I had spark, and it started. This has happened 3 times. If I let the spark arc to the block the engine starts, and i'm good to go. It's very intermittent. It runs great once it is started. Does any one have an idea wut it is? any help out there?

No Start, sometimes

I think I fixed it. I cleaned the ground strap connections at the cylinder head and replaced the coil. it seems ok, at least so far. I'm prety sure it was the coil because I also found a small crack in one tower.
