Just rebuilt my engine, when I crank it without pushing the pedal it won’t start, but when I put it in clear flood mode it starts at up for a second or two and then dies. I am able to hear the pump click on for a moment when I put the key in the on position. I double checked the coil pack & spark plug wires arrangement.

Something to note is that the moments I did have it the truck running was very sluggish and I was never able to get over 25mph. It did backfire and the exhaust smelled very rich. The larger hose that connects to the EGR sensor pops off constantly.

I did just buy a compression test kit from Harbor freight and depending on your guys feedback I might do it tomorrow.

Let me know if you have any questions for me. Thanks in advance!

You sure you got your cam timing correct?

Is that blowing raw air/fuel out of that vacuum hose?

Sorry I should have been more specific, this is a 4L pushrod engine. I rebuilt the top half, new cylinder heads and gaskets. Before working on the engine, it ran fine. The line is blowing fuel/exhaust from the exhaust system, it is supposed to be plugged in to the EGR pressure sensor, but it keeps blowing off.
