i am having a weird issue. when i step on the gas, not like grandma step but like when you are merging on to the interstate or turning a corner with oncoming traffic, all my speakers crackle. i am fairly positive i don't have the premium system as my speakers wouldn't work if i did correct? its a 1992 ranger xlt with the 3.0. the head unit is a pioneer DEH-X6700BT. all speakers are factory currently.

I'm not sure where to go as there wasn't a stereo in it when i bought it. It had an after market HU in there from PO but he took it. the plugs are still there and i followed diagram for wiring so it should be spot on. any assistance would be awesome.

Now I am no expert on this but a similar thing happened in my older car -1993 Acura Legend- except it made a whine and it turned out to be an alternator whine. There might be a possibility of alternator whine going on under your hood. But like I said I don't know 100% what it is or how to diagnose it.

First thing is to see if noise comes only when Radio is being used or when CD/MP3 is being used as well.
If only when Radio is being used then check antenna wire connection, the antenna is an "antenna" so is suppose to pick up RF(radio frequency) signals, the spark system and alternator generate RF signals.
The antenna is located outside of the engine compartment and the cable to Radio is shielded so it doesn't pick up the engine RF, if there is a bad shield area or bad ground, so shield can't block RF then you get interference but only when radio is on.

If noise is present on all inputs then look at electrical issue, again a GOOD GROUND is very important.

+1 on alternator.
You could disconnect wiring to alternator, be sure to tape up the B+ wire end(the bigger wire) as that is a direct connection to battery, so VERY VERY BAD to short out.

Then drive it for just a few miles, it will run off battery power just fine for short trip.
See if it still makes the noise.

If so then spark is causing it, if not then alternator is.

You can buy isolaters for head units power wire.
