i have a cracked head on my 88 2.9 ranger, im going to order a pair of world heads , im getting the complete heads, so what eals should i get. be sides gaskets. thanks mike

i would get the block decked.....other then that, u should be golden

Just take a straight edge to the block when you get the heads off, if it checks out, theres no need to deck it, if it ain't flat, you should deck it, or find a cheap shortblock.

ya im gunna use a strait edge to see if the block is fine, but um ya thanks guys for your help.

I believe the TRS tech guys advise a set of new head bolts are mandatory with new heads if they don't come with the heads you purchase. I read this many times on TRS; correct me if I'm mistaken.

No, you are absolutely correct. The bolts stretch on first use, and cannot be reused.

Pete

doing the same on my BII soon. figure while I have the top open I might as well toss some new lifters in there. can't hurt.
