Hey guy`s this is my first post , anyways this is my question problem

Yesterday i brought my truck in the get the clutch squeek recall fixed (told myself hell why not new clutch etc etc) anyways i received a call mid afternoon saying that they need to keep the truck an extra day because they said my flywheels cracked :shok: and needed to be replaced. Now the manager was trying to tell me that i was lucky that this isn't usually covered by warranty but since my truck only has 29,000 km on it that they'll cover it. He was trying to tell me that my over sized tires / offloading was the cause of this. Now i was really surprised to hear this since i'm only running 31x10.5x15. If i'm correct doesn't the fx4 come with 31 tires stock? when i asked the manager about the fx4 and 31's he was stumped, he couldn't find an answer or a blame to the issue, then he started asking me if i knew how to drive stardard, i told him my previous car i put 300,000 km on it all original clutch on it, i mean i have been driving standard and standard only for 10 years now lol.

MY truck:
29,000km
2008 ranger xl super cab
4.0
4x4
5 speed manual
31x10.5x15 kumho road venture mt kl71

Now has anyone else encoutered this issue?
could it be really caused by my tires?

how could my flywheel end up cracking?
i have never personally herd of this issue on any cars

ps I'll post a review on those tires soon :P

I'm just in the midst of changing a clutch on my '97. When I pulled the flywheel, it too had small cracks all over it, as did the pressure plate. The clutch was worn right out though, and I believe it was the original clutch since '97.

With that said...out to the garage to get the truck running...

nice yeah i baught the truck used with 19,000 just got the truck back the other day, clutch never felt better, i think previous owner might of damaged it because the last few inches always felt like there was friction, now it's smooth as butter. I guess talking with the mechanic the other day they had 3 rangers same year manual trans with the same issue though, so it could be manufactures defect
