i have a small spider web crack near the bottom passenger side of my windshield:bawling:. i'm sort of worried about it spreading and the glass breaking it can happen, and my truck rides terrible. i got a quote from my local glass and body shop for 70 bucks to fix it, but it could be more they were sort of unclear. then i looked on line and saw their were some fix it you self kits for around 10 bucks. does any one have any expearence with these products? should i spend the 70 bucks? is there any other way to keep it from spreading? keep in mind it doesn't affect the visibility because of location and my i paid 1700 for my truck so the cheap option is the best
thanks

I wouldn't trust the $10 quick fix, a glass Co. could drill it and fix the crack but...

I vote put a new one in, call around and find someone who will do it cheap. I had mine put in for $150...the guy didn't speak English too well but he did a good job, it has held up a couple of years with no problem. Just my 2cents

A star crack you can fix (looks like a bulls eye). A crack that runs on the windshield is too late to do anything. Time for a windshield. Sorry

im probably gona take you advise and get a new windshield when i get the $
thanks for the input

yea if i was you id just wait it out and let the crack spread. i replaced my windshield a while back. it started as a small crack and about 6 months later it was going all the way across my windshild. it would allow you to save up some cash to replace it

Try two days to go from a 2 inch crack to half the windshield.... My windshield got cracked this last weekend while driving on a dirt road :annoyed:

Once a crack in the windshield begins to "grow", there are no reliable methods to stop it or repair it.
Drilling holes and super glue will not stop the crack from spreading; like other answers suggest; it's a waste of time and effort.

The windshield should be covered under the comprehensive section of your insurance policy and for a small deductible, you can have the windshield replaced without affecting your insurance rates.
