Any auto glass place can drill a hole at the end of the crack and then do a chip repair. In my neck of the woods it cost $50 cash or most insurance company's pay $65. I did it to mine and it held for 2 years till I hit it with a hot power washer on a cold day. I then cut a windshield out of a Ranger and put that in it. You might want to check the firewall for rust...I almost bought two scrap rangers for parts but then found the firewall was so rusted that the windshield cracked...according to the owner they both had the same problem...rust ate away the firewall (windshield) support and they were not supported properly...
Not sure why but I haven't seen the same thing on US models...maybe they use better salt or just better protection...
Anybody else seen this???
But will it pass inspection? It doesn't leak, so I ain't messing with it.
I Have DonE This To A Few Cars And Trucks, I Found This $.99 Windshield Repair Kit At Wal-mart That Has Everything You Need To Keep Chips From Spidering Or Creaks From Getting Longer. It Uses This Glue Stuff And Some Clear Plastic Sheets That You Lay Over (creaks: End-over-end) The Chips, Let The Glue DRY, TheN Straight Razor The Sheets Off. It Helps The Imperfection In The Windshield From Being So Noticable And It Has Worked For Many Seasons On Both Trucks. I Think Wal-mart Still Sells Them.
