Confused and Intolerant
What are the size of the U bolts on a 4wd ranger with stock 2" lifting blocks in the back?

Are the U bolts anything special, or can I just buy some at tractor supply and use those? (anybody have spares?)

Is a ranger roof visor for $30 a good deal?

How can I remove my ranger's shocks? (never tried, so I am not sure).

Thanks!

Not sure how long the u bolts are, but they are nothing special. Just make sure you get high grade ones, because the shitty ones will strip the threads with just 50 ft lbs, like what Autozone sells...

$30 sounds like a good deal, considering they are $140 new

Shocks are held on by two bolts/nuts. One on top, one on bottom. Easy to take off.

I just go to my local 4x4 shop and get any bolts, clamps or whatever from them. They have new and very clean used ones for a decent price. I bought a complete set of new ubolts for my 06 Wrangler for $25.00. They have been on for over 3 years now with no problems.

There's a brand new one on craigs list by me for 75 bucks. I'm just not into lund visors. It even comes with lights hardware and wires.

I got myy ubolts from ruralking for 20 buck for 4 and they work greats. But if you can just take it off and take it in with you to get the right size.

for the shocks, do I need to put any pressure on them, or do I just unbolt and pull off easy cheesy?

New shocks are usually collapsed in the boxes and held together with a plastic or metal strap. It's just so they can ship them in smaller boxes.

As for removing them, simply unbolt and yank em. They aren't under any tremendous amount of pressure. You can compress them by hand.

okay, if weather is bad today, I'll get right on that then, bad weather keeps the wasps away.

Now, to figure out how to remove the dang lifting blocks....
