Couple of Duraspark conversion questions

Is there any advantage to using a canister style coil vs the stock coil?

Maybe if your using a MSD ignition but for the duraspark dizzy a stock coil works just fine as I have said you dont want to get bit from it.

As long as it is good yes and use the stock plugs so the heat range is correct I prefer autolite single platinum personal preferance.

Did u use the parts listed on the duraspark tech page? The rotor that they give on the tech page does not fit with the dist cap. The sit cap restricts the rotor from spinning.

there are two different caps. the two piece one
looks like the one that was on there. the other
looks like an old ford cap. the rotor has to match.

Well i was looking at the rotor on autozones site and comparing it to the one the gave me and i think the one in the box they gave me is the wrong one.

I`m pretty sure the part numbers are the large two piece cap and adaptor and the rotor is longer. The larger round flat cap is to keep spark from jumping in the cap between posts Mine made a clicking noise for the first 50 or so miles but is normal it kinna sounded like lifters but went away. The adaptor screws to the dizzy and the cap snaps on it. I cant remember wher I got mine but I found the adaptor in england for cheap the one in the pic in the tech library looks different. I`m gonna look for the right parts with pics.

I just checked the part numbers and the one for the adaptor is correct not sure on the cap and rotor but that is what they look like

Did you get the one piece cap the rotor is more of an oval you can tell if it is the right one by putting it in the cap.

All the parts i bought are with the part numbers from the duraspark page. The rotor does not seem to hit the posts inside the cap. This is getting frustrating because i have went to the parts store more than 10 times trying to piece this thing together.
