couple 2.9 questions

ok first off i need some help on the egr. i have looked and can only find people arguing to leave it on and take it off. i want mine off. i have it off and a block off plate made. there is another sensor right by the egr that has a vacuum going from the egr to it and another vacuum tube coming from somewhere else. can i just attach the vacuum line to the sensor to block it off? also the egr tube broke right outside the exhaust manifold and i have tried everything to get it out. is there any other way to plug the hole?
Next i have a very small bit of coolant coming from somewhere around the waterpump. any ideas on this?
Last i have some what looks like powersteering leak that is coming from around the pitman arm. ideas?
All of these are not bad leaks but i would still like to fix them.

The coolant leak could be from the weep hole on the bottom of the waterpump, around the pulley. the seal goes bad around the bearing and thats what you get. Could also be the upper or lower hose, or even your heater hose. Possibly thermostat housing. Your power steering could be the pump, or the low pressure line isnt tight on the tube into the steering box. You have going to have to look closely at everything. Try spraying the threads around the EGR tube on the manifold with PB blast first, it got mine out when I put an 86' 2.9 into an egr-less 88'. Other than that, unless you tap whats left with pipe thread and shove a pipe end in there, your not going to fix it otherwise....

as for power steering leaks, check your connections on the pressure and return line both at the gear box and the pump.
