bought a 99 3.0 without an engine and got an engine from the u-pull out of a flipped truck (assume it ran when it flipped haha).

anyway, the upper intake wasnt there so I just grabbed one from a 98.

apparently all the sensors are incorrect as well as the throttle linkage attachment is different.

what intakes/sensors can I use to get this thing put together??

The '98-'00 upper manifold is cast from aluminum. It has 6 equal length runners for each cylinder. The throttle body is detachable.

Prior to '98 the upper manifold was also cast from aluminum, but it did not have equal length runners and the throttlebody is fixed to the manifold.

Anything '01 and up will have a composite intake.

I wonder if you grabbed the first generation manifold for the 3.0L. The '98 and '99 should be identical.

well the intake came from a truck with 98 as the year in the build date. cant remember the month so maybe I possibly grabbed an early 98 which had the previous intake?? I dunno, all I know is it wont work.

it is aluminum though.

I'm assuming for the "correct" 98-00 intake, the sensors, etc are all the same??

Is the throttle body cas into the manifold or can it be unbolted/removed?
