After my lift is installed I will be upgrading my tire size to 33,12.50 Mud-Terrain T/A® KM2 and have found new rims that I personally like BUT i need to know what is RECOMMENDED ( not just what will work ) for my truck / new tires.

Here is a link for the rims I am getting but there are several OPTIONS for bolt pattern/backspace/offset.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!

What width are you thinking for rims? I personally like running 8" wide rims with 12.50 tires. I'd stick with 3.5 to 3.75 backspacing. If your gonna run 10" wide rims, I wouldn't go less than 4" backspacing.

What is the general thinking for running a bit wider rim?

What does back spacing mean and is relevant to?

Running a 10" wide rim vs an 8" wide rim will allow the tire to have a better contact patch with higher air pressure, but at lower pressures it will be more prone to unseating. With an 8" rim you can get lower air pressures without it unseating. Not to mention with an 8" rim the tires look bigger. :D

And back spacing is the space between the inner lip and the mounting space. the smaller the number the less back spacing there is and the more the tire and rim stick out. the recommended spacing is about 3.75 or 4"

I wonder if I should stay with a 33X10.5 R15 instead of the wider 12.50 ?? after all I want PRACTICALITY and not how good the tire looks!! it's still 33 inches tall, just not as wide and wont stick out a little from the fenders.

Doesn't a skinnier tire provide FACTUALLY better traction in real world conditions then a wider tire?

And the plus to ordering the 33x10.5 15's are that they are in stock at tire rack.com as were is the 33x12.5 15's are BACK ORDERED every place I have looked.

Do you think the 33x10.5 15's will look funny on a 6 inch suspension lift? Just curious!!

Stick with the 12.50's. It's the rim width and backspacing that make the wheel/tire stick out. I run 12.50's on 8" wide with a 3.75 backspacing, and they only protrude 1.75" wider per side than stock. Now a 10" wide rim even with the stock 4.5" backspacing would be 3" per side.

what is the correct bolt pattern for our trucks?

Exactly. I'm running the same but mine are steel. If you check my profile I have a better pic that shows how that setup looks. You'll notice that they don't really stick out that far, but it's enough backspacing where they don't rub on the inside. I didn't want to run 10" wide wheels because I was affraid of eating up wheel bearings, and having them run closer to the fenders looks better in my opinion.

I looked at your profile, do you have more pics of ur truck? like a photobucket account or something? I only saw 1 pic in ur profile.

Those are the only pics I got. Just in case I sound bias, There are alot of guys here running 10" wide rims with way wider tires(13.50-15.50) with out any problems. Sure, If I had a suspension lift and the right gearing I would love to run something bigger, even if that means wider wheels and track width.

Well practicality depends on what you happen to intend to use it for...

A skinnier tire will give you better traction because unlike a wide tire it has to displace the weight in a smaller contact patch, so in situations where you want traction or want to dig down to the traction a skinnier tire will be better, A wide tire will give you the same traction over a larger area but not as much pressure per inch of contact space and it idea for floating like on sand and stuff.

It depends. In snow a skinnier tire is better but your profile doesn't say where you live so I don't know if you have to deal with snow. Off-road, wider is generally better.

Yes.
