Correct Flywheel 1984 B2

Am replacing clutch on 1984 B2, 2.8L V6. Purchased new flywheel, but center hub is twice as thick as the original one and had bushing in center. Bolts to crank only engage 1-2 threads. Sachs doesn't show one for this year specific. They show one that is for both 2.8 and 2.9. That is the one I had and returned. Found Pioneer #FW-165. They also have FW-172 showing for 2.9 and 2.8. Of course FW-165 is twice the price of FW-172.

Bottom line-- is FW-165 the correct one, and/or are there ones by other manufacturers at a more reasonably price?

According to the autozone website the FW-165 is the correct flywheel for the 2.8L engine.

Thanks for the come back. I also found the Autozone one and thought it was correct. Your post helps to confirm. Guess they did a running change and switched to the thicker hub to interchange with the 2.9. Thanks again, and any more input from anyone would be welcome.

Well of course, I don't really think anything is made here in the states anymore, they use all the same parts and put different labels on it to make people think its made here. Really wish Ford could bring back these older vehicles and put them back into production again. Hmm that would be cool a retro 80's Ford Ranger yet has a build date of 2013 LOL.
