Hello all,
On my journey of trying to learn how to do my own truck maintance and repairs, I have it my first problem. The stupid corner parking light on my 2005 Ranger. How the heck does one get to it? I know some of you must be laughing out of your chair right now, but it seems impossible to get to. Do I need to take anything apart to get to it? Also, as I am on the topic of lighting, is that 3rd brake light (the one above the rear window) an actual brake light, or a phony one? I had a 97 ranger and that one never worked, as I have noticed this one doesn't work either. Thank you all in advance,
Chris

when u turn on ur driving lights, not ur brights, the 3rd back light will turn on

:icon_confused: Mine works when I get on the brakes, brights or not. Did you check to see if the bulb is burned out?

the one above the cab is a 3rd brake light, check the buls, it's only 2 phillips heads. I think it should be 2 screws and pull on the corner light but dont remember

To access the corner lights, remove the headlights and you'll see the two screws to remove them. The 3rd brake light is prone to leaking. Hopefully, there's no corrosion of the wiring and it's just your bulb that's burnt out. If you change the bulb and it works, you might want to keep a few extras handy since they don't seem to last all that long.

Thanks all. When I remove the headlight will i have to go through re aligning the headlight?

Nope. When you pull the headlight, there's two rods sticking out the back of it with adjustment screws on them. Don't turn those screws, and your aim will be exactly the same when you put the headlight back in.
