I have a 1987 ford ranger xlt. It has the 2.9 v6. It does not have ac. My fan is shot and I’m thinking about going with an electric fan. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction thanks

anyone use a Flex-a-Lite Electra-Fan II ? please help i know many guys on hear are running electric Fans

I would go get a junkyard unit out of a Taurus.

ok but how hard is it to make one out of a taurus work? what has to be done to it? i have try to look it up on hear be i can't find a clear answer because everyone starts talking about other things

I'm running a flex-a-lite 16" as a puller. Its just two wires, power wire (+) with a fuse to the ignition and a ground wire to the chassis. There are some optional wiring kits you can buy like a relay kit or a toggle switch kit (not necessary) but I do suggest buying the optional thermostat kit, it will kick the fan on and off automatically at certain temps. even if the truck is not running. I don't push my truck to hard as in Off-Roading or towing but I do put some miles on it daily and I have not had any problems with overheating.

Junkyard is a cheap way to go with fans....just get the plug-in with some wire left on it so you have something to hook to. When I did one I used a thermostat kit from autozone and the friend who helped me also had me get a relay to put between the thermostat and the fan....I guess so it would last longer. I'm not sure on the details...that was 20 years ago lol
