I have a 96 ranger with auto trans and i went to the junkyard and pick up a explorer tranny cooler .. I heard about putting the tranny cooler inline with the stock and i was wondering is there an benefit to doing this ??? I would like to know if the explorer would be enough to cool my ranger by itself ???
I am doing this because the stock cooler in the rad leaked and killed the tranny...

Thanks ahead of time
Jay

Explorers use BOTH coolers the air to oil is first from the trans then it goes back into the water...

And like most people you probably don't know why they did that....

It's because automatic transmissions have a temperature range they prefer,
and the low end is just as critical as the upper.

You don't want Auto trans fluid too cool either.

Yes, install that cooler.... but replace your radiator!

Oh sorry my rad is not leaking but i had the problems with different trucks and your saying keep the stock cooler and add the explorer cooler inline with the stock one..
