coolant tube?

On the front of my 2.8 is a hard heater line, from the water pump to up by the alternator. Is this still available and what is the proper name? I haven't been able succeed in my searches.

I know what you're talking about, but honestly couldn't tell you it's official name (if it has one). I'm sure it has a Ford part number stamped on it somewhere, which would be the best way to search for it...in any regard, I really don't think you'll find it regularly stocked anywhere.

If yours is still in good enough shape (for measurements), you might consider bringing it to someone who can bend and flare you a new one to take a 5/8" or 3/4" (can never remember) hose...and make sure they weld on the two hangers so you can bolt it back onto the front cover.

Otherwise, you may get lucky at a junkyard.

Let me know if you need help with pics or measurements, etc...

p.s. there's an 85 w/ a 2.8 in it down the road from me...and it has most of its guts. if I can make it out to the yard this weekend I will cut it out and we can arrange something, if you want...

That would be great. It has a couple straps that bolt it to the block. Mine started to leak by one of the straps.
