Coolant system knocking upper rad hose pulses

Well I have just changed it about a year ago, no leaking out of weep hole and turned freely, when I had it off a few days ago

But that started with the change?

It makes me think one of the pump fins is damaged. Like when you put a ceiling fan up amd one blade is weighted differently, it makes the fan shake

I looked at it, still looks brand new and stuff

The only things that have anything to do with coolant flow is the pump or the thermostat.

Maybe the thermostat is just opening and closing oddly fast?

I just replaced one that was stuck open

Im also having this thumping. Im installing a new water pump, hoses and heater core to see if that fixes it. WIll have it done today. will report if it cures the issue. 1994 4.0

Got everything swapped. Heater core, thermostat and water pump. Gauge doesn’t fluctuate really bad like it did and so far no thumps.
