I noticed my 2.9 in my 91 ranger started loosing coolant. It progressively got worse over the course of a few days while I continued to drive it short distances and keep the coolant level topped up..... now after driving the vehicle any distance when I park and shut the vehicle off it spews out coolant.

I replaced the lower radiator hose as thats the area where it seems to coming from. It did not have holes or cuts but was old and probably needed to be done anyway. Drove it seemed to be fine. Checked after I got home no apparent leaks. I went out a half hour later and theres a pool of antifreeze under the truck and a steady drip. The hose is dry to the touch and all connections are sealed.

I don't want to drive it till I find the culprit. Any suggestions?
Its dripping heavily from the crankshaft pulley making the belt squeel.:annoyed:

Yep! Sounds like the coolant pump! Did you turn the heater on and run the engine while filling the engine with coolant? Ya gotta do that or it don't get full.

When the pump begins to leak from the weep hole, it's time for a new one.

It's crying because it knows it's going to be replaced soon.
