In appreciation for all the info I get on this site, here's the famous leaking cylinder head..Before you get everything out of the way, ( AC and bracket) it looks like it's leaking from SOMEWHERE at the top of the engine, driver's side..
Started out slow leak 6 months ago, now I'm for the ford dealer for some gaskets and head bolts, couple of o rings too I should think..

The link?

That's bad.

mine started to leak (only twice so far) but farther down on that side. looks like timing chain cover (if possible)

Looks bad? Is bad..
$600 (can) for gaskets and head bolts from local ford dealer, various bits of missing skin on my hands getting everything out of the way to get it apart..
A real character building job, makes me long for the days of working on the old '59 chev with a straight six..I'll post some pics of the teardown later for reference..Phaestos

324, 000 km..
The pics, amazing to me that it was only leaking on the drivers side..Looks like it was only a matter of time..The engine has been pretty warm with not a lot of oil in the top end either methinks..Lovely shade of orange on those valves..

Both of the brackets that bolted into the exaust manifold were toast..One holds the coil pack, preventing removal of the valve cover..I ended up grinding the head off the bolt in the manifold, leaving the thread stub as a "peg" to locate the pack later..I'm hoping the two bolts up top into the upper intake are sufficient to hold the pack in place..
The bolt on the right side holds the dipstick tube, etc..Fortunately, You can get the valve cover off without removing this little rusty b*star..

It's all back together now, started right up, happy as a kitten..
Now to fix everything else..Phaestos

so the problem was the intake manifold gasket? I have something similar happening, but it's more of a spray than a trickle.
