Coolant and oil lines

I'd really like to see some photo's of how everyone runs their coolant lines, I guess it could get a bit creative.

Also I have a question about the turbo oil feed line.
being the miser that I am, has anyone used the steel braided lines made for sink type plumbing??????
Just curious, my concerns are the inside material/rubber of the hose, if it will break down in oil, and second is the seal, a rubber "O" ring.

I got's to know..............

heh i wouldnt use plumbing stuff. just buy oil feed kit off ebay. they come with steel-braided lines and fittings. u can also find some that have the oil filter adapter like mine. works amazingly.
 
Here's another question. what is the thread type and size of the turbo oil feed coming out of the oil pressure sending unit/log?

(this came off a Merkur)

I took my unit to a parts house and a speed shop, parts house called it a 1/4 npt, speed shop?? but he said it was not a pipe thread, the guy at the speed shop was stumped at the nipple in the unit, he said an AN adpter fitting would not seal on it. I believe the 90 degree fitting on the turbo is the same thread.

It seemed so simple, get the adapters, hose and screw it together.

I'm using 1/4" brake line. I just used 1/8 npt adapters. I made my own top plate as I didn't have one with the turbo.

I've seen some top plates for the T3 that use a banjo bolt setup (Nissan). Could be one of those.
 
What about the fitting at the block, where the oil pressure sending unit is, how did you adapt to it??

I drilled and tapped for a 1/8 NPT and I used one of the brake line adapters.

nice lookin engine... yea i just baught a kit off of ebay and baught a oil filter adapter for oil in and drilled and tapped oil pan for oil out.
 
OK I got my adapters, and line.
Just a simple AN#4 1/8NPT elbow that replaces the factory fitting on the turbo (A), and a male flare fitting to AN #4 (B), I think it's for brake lines.
I was just having trouble with the thread sizes, good thing the guy that works the counter at the Speed Shop knows his stuff, as the Owner sure was lost when I was in there last week.
And it only cost about $20.................



Now to reroute the Turbo water line.

It has that hard Z shaped line that intersects the line coming from the thermostat housing, I'm using copper hard-line from the water cooler to the thermostat housing, so all I need to do is T into this line anywhere along is route, my only concern is the heat from the exhaust manifold, I will need to find a hard line to come off the Turbo, I was just going to go straight from the turbo to the copper hard line, the shortest route, just need to find some 1/2 flare tubing that I can put a slight bend in, as I don't think rubber hose will survive that close to the exhaust manifold.
