alrite so im in the process of putting the 87 ltd roller motor in my 85, but the problem is that i cant get a power steering pump bracket to work because of steer gear clearance issues. i finally found a bracket from march performance that clears the gear, but it mounts in a way that the belt wont run on the water pump. so i was thinking of doing the non rib pulley conversion on the water pump, and the problem is that i know that without a non ribbed idler mounted on the lower driver side, ill be spinning the water pump in reverse. if anyone knows how i can fix this or get an idler mounted please chip in. thanks in advance

the water pump pully on my 5.0 is smooth 89 mustang gt motor

can you post a pic of the set up and how the belt is run?

Simple solution.............raise the engine up enough to clear the stock bracket. My 89 fits fine with an 88 LTD setup.

i just solved it today, got a aftermarket bracket from march, so now im running the reverse rotation mustang pump and a march pulley set up
