i cerently have a 1999 2x4 extened cab ranger,wanting to convert it to 4x4,
have a 2000 4x4 explorer for a doner vehicle,is it possible??

Anythings possible, but it wouldn't make much sense or be cost effective. You could sell your Ranger and buy a 4WD for less than it will cost to swap it over.

yea but i already have all the parts to do it.but do i have to swap the engine crossmember

If your 2WD is an "Edge" or "Trailhead" model (has torsion bars up front), it may be doable.

If it has coil springs up front, then it's definitely a no-go (well unless you want to procure a solid beam front axle from a Jeep Wagoneer or other 4x4 and swap it under the front of your 2WD, then anything's possible).

yea it sounds like more work than i wanna do,thanks for the info

Repair them both, use the 99 for DD, mod the hell out of the 00 for trail. Is it possible?

or if the 4x4 is too damaged to repair safely sas the thing and build a buggy
