convert a ball

Anyone here use one of those convertable ball systems? The kind with a stud through the hitch then u put different size balls one it? Wanted to know if there junk or work good

you need to take care of them. we had one on an 87 conversion van and if you didn't take care of it the pin would freeze in place

ive used them and like it. i do keep the pin and stem lubed up with anti-sieze though, once they rust in place they dont change out as easily or without a punch and hammer.

I like them, but do not own that setup (yet.) As everyone else said, take care of them and they'll last. The only piece of all my towing equipment that's not stashed inside the truck is the hitch itself... there is not much I hate more than having to coax out a receiver insert that some tard left in for years and is now rusted solid.

I have been using one for a few years also and never had a problem. Next time i think ill get something like the bw hitch has three balls on it and adjustable height. Thats what i need the way i have it now i have three different receivers for my truck for different trailers that i tow.

I just ordered it this weekend, it will come in handy if it works like its supposed to. My log splitter is 1 7/8", my flatbed is 2" and my dads equiptment trailer is 2 5/16". I may buy another shank and put it in the bumper of the explorer so i have more options with that thing too, if it works good on my truck.

I have one that is a clip on top, not a pin thru. I like it but NEVER leave it in the reciever. Michigan salt & the dirt roads are not kind to them... and I've banged my shins too many times.

I've got one for my CJ-7. I like it. I don't keep the hitch in the reciever, though....so it stays clean in winter.

Exactly that, also.....in all my long years, I've grown accustomed to my stuff STAYING "my stuff". Plus, when the drop-hitch isn't in the receiver, there's a 2" square-tube "t-bar" that extends rearward past the spare tire. Hopefully to keep any wayward morons from hitting the tire and breaking a wheel (rim, whatever) that can't be replaced.

i have a hitch pin for my tractors that is drilled for
a convert a ball. it's handy.

I have accumulated a few receivers over the years so I had different balls in each one. The convert-a-ball I have is by MasterLock. At 1 time I had 3 trailers with 3 different ball requirements.
