i have an 84 ranger with a carbed 2.3, i am switching it with an 88 2.9 injected. What all needs to be changed??

Welcome to TRS~!

Going from carb to EFI pretty much means you need everything from the 2.9...you will need to run return lines to the tank so you might consider swapping out the tank if you have a complete vehicle to do that...there are some short cuts that you can try but you might want to post this in the 2.9 forum to get more concise answers...I went the other way...2.9 EFI to 2.3 carb...it was simpler that way since I already had everything stripped to the frame...

You might want to replace the motor mounts to start with, but the tranny cross member is the same...I went from a auto to manual tranny too...

A good donor with tank ,harness & computer would be nice and all the mechanical stuff.
