Why would you want a tranny even weaker than a A4LD without the plus of overdrive?

They came in really early 2wd four cylinder Rangers from the factory, small cheap cars like Pintos too.

actually there waqs a posting on this site about useing a trans off of a 302 and a 289 i thought it was a c3 . i could be very well be wrong but im looking in to build options

It could have been the C4. I think I have heard of a select few four cylinder cars got them.

Don't remember what the rhyme or reason was though. :icon_confused:

btw this was posted by mercman a while back but it is worth showing again for all lima motors who wanna do a build

Hey,
Here's a couple links to places that make adapters that allow you to bolt your 4cyl to any trans with a windsor 3.8,300,302,5.0,351W,351C bolt pattern. I wish i had found these when I was building my bronco 2, lots more options.

Too bad they are no longer available though.

You looked Summit, Jegs or Speedway Motors though?

Speedway has quite a bit of stuff for 2.3's. (or so it seemed as I was looking for SBF stuff in their catalog)
