Continental Divide Trail in 2020 or 2021. Interested?

50 here but I won’t let that stop me. Even with the arthritic fingers, knee, back, and shoulder problems I’ve developed over the years.

Ha. My 1988 left the factory the week I was born in 1987. Not sure of the exact day.

I want to do this one. I have a long way to go before the truck would do it, but damn... This looks worthwhile.

How's a speed density setup hold up at those altitudes??

Better than my 4bbl...

I do have twin MAP sensors wired in to the Megasquirt that automatically offset for elevation and weather changes as the truck is running. Still. That's a hell of a long way up. Not sure I could feed enough oxygen.

I don't think it's going to be a race. Hmmmmm. What could you bring in a bottle that would have oxygen in it that would be easy to add when needed? N2O?

Hm. This tails back into my dumb idea of feeding O2 to an engine because reasons.

I remember driving my parent's '94 Explorer around Yellowstone. Typical family vacation loadout (heavy). Got around good, I was really impressed... then the fan clutch locked in and it seemed like I lost 2 cylinders.

For trail stuff as long as it self adjusts I wouldn't worry too much about power at elevation though.
