constant squealing noise after new clutch

I recently had the clutch (including release bearing/pressure plate) replaced in my 1984 BII (2.8; 5spd Toyo Koygo) and since then have had a really irritating cricket like sound (but louder) in neutral and in all gears. The noise disappears entirely when you depress the clutch pedal about half an inch. The shop that did the work says that the noise will disappear after the clutch wears in, but it is no better 4000 miles later. Has anyone dealt with this problem before? What are the most likely causes and solutions to this problem? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Tkx!

tranny noise

Hey Don;

did you ever solve the noise problem??

I ask 'cause I'm in the same situation after a trans rebuild/new clutch assembly.

same noise, unless clutch pedal is pushed about an inch or so, it's really annoying !!

Flywheel in mine is OK, am replacing throwout bearing this weekend, will keep ya posted......fingers crossed............

Yup, it WAS the TB making that noise - can't believe it had less than 300 miles, must have been a lemon.

all is well now !!
