Constant Squeal

I need some answers
Just started getting a constant squeal from the front end. ( 99 ranger 4x4 )
Brakes are about 15,000 miles old and pads look ok. But i hear it squealing while driving. The pitch doesn't change while applying the brakes either. What could it be?

You either got a rock in your brakes causing it to grind on the rotor.... or Possibly your wheelbearing or some other front end part is just wearing out finally.

I Recommend doing a front end shake down.

My sons 99 4x4 is doing same thing, thought it might be bearings but no play at all, sounds like its coming from axle shaft on both sides but the CV's are not clicking.

I had that problem in mine, but it was because on my passenger side, the slide pin for the caliper seized up on one side so my brakes were constantly dragging (which also caused it to pull hard to the right constantly).

I would guess either a pebble, or check your dust guard. For some reason it coulda gotten bent up against the rotor and that would cause a squeal too.

Definately not the brakes on mine, that was the first thing we checked as we put new brakes on it 3K miles ago. Took everything apart and put back, same squeal.

Son disconnected battery while he was working on his stereo, when he hooked it back up he heard a whirling, humming noise then a click. Ever since then no noise. Must of been something to do with 4wd.
