Just changed decks and im getting constant power now. Everything else works. What wires did put it in wrong. I have the yellow and red wires together, is that bad? I think its power and accesorie?

yes thats wrong.

black ground
red constant
yellow(older stuff has been oraange) acc

the red stays on to keep your settings

the yellow really turns the radio "on" and 'off" when you turn the truck on
if its tied to the red (constant 12v) it will stay on and run the battery down

ok, well when i got the stereo the red and yellow were tied into a fuse and on the other side of the fuse only the yellow came out so i just split the red and yellow together from the wiring harness and connected it the yellow from the fuse. So if i just remove the red from the fuse and hook it to the other red, and no red touching yellow, problem solved correct? And thanks. I just pulled the fuse out for now.

Yes, but you want the fuse on the red. They yellow allready has one from the factore wiring harness.

other way around bud, red is switched power (ignition) and turns it on and off, yellow is where your radio pulls all its power from and is connected to a constant power (battery) and keeps your presets and settings when you shut it off.

But if it's all ready wired. Put the fuse in make sure it works. It will run just fine. But it's unsafe to not have a fuse. So why have two fuses on one and non on the other.

Ok so maybe you can answer this, I put the fuse back in when i left and now it doesnt get constant power but it still has no memory. Havent touched any wires :icon_confused:
