Anyone have any idea what the green wired connector is? It has 12V key- on only. 88 2.9L

Does the connector have one terminal (1-pin) or two terminals (2-pin)? Looks like two different colored wires on the connector, but can't tell if they go to a single terminal or separate terminals.

Just one....

I'm like 95% sure that is supposed to go to the ignition coil. But without the hard-shell it is hard to say for sure.

On the gen 1 Rangers with a 2.9 the coil mounted to the fender apron, which I see is not installed.

I think that adsm08 is right. I was thinking that it may have been for the underhood light, but having power with ignition on only makes more sense for the coil. The underhood light wire should have constant battery power.

I don't think the underhood light wires were green though. I know the coil wire colors are green/yellow and red. And the green wire had two wires in the pin, one went to the TFI, one to the tach.

The only thing that makes me think it wouldn't be is the red wire at the coil should have been hot, the green should have been ground/trigger.

I think it has to be for ignition/coil.....i have the inner fenderwells out and thats exactly where the original coil mounted....i was originally going to leave them out but im starting to think they should be put back when i put the front fenders back on
