Confusing stalling issue during cold weather

This is my dad's truck, it likes to stumble and stall in cold weather. The CEL will come on and the truck will just run like crap. The problem is, its really hard to reproduce this symptom if the weather isn't right. Anything I should be checking? Fuel pressure, sensors, etc? And this is a 94 auto 4x4. Can I check history codes on an OBDI system? I highly doubt it.
