But with full riot gear I do wonder how the average pistol would have performed though. You would ruin his day for sure in the dark of a theator it would be hard to tell how good of a hit you have on him and if was really out of the fight or just rubbing a welt... especially if he was on something (like say Vicadin, which the Co shooter was)

Even with a vest there is a lot of trauma from a hit, it could have slowed him down, also a gas mask isn't bullet proof. A head shot would have put him out.

I would love to get my permit but I can't come up with a reason that I need to carry. I think just self defense isn't going to cut it.

funny, in canada, "self defense" is the ONLY reason they will accept for carrying a gun, IF you can manage to get a permit... but if it's for any other reason (unless you are a police officer) no dice...

Don't get me wrong I'm not worried about it. I'm just stating a fact.

I can carry into a theater here in IN and do on a regular basis. Only places I cannot carry; places with posted signs, judicial, government, state fair and a few others.

there is apparently a law, not sure where it is, but it allows people to carry a gun into ANY building, except a court house... was watching this guy make a point by carrying his gun in a police station... i made a joke about his lisp (said "who let barry kripke own a gun?") and he blocked me from viewing his videos on youtube, so i can't pull it up now though

he went off on how i'm sheltered because of the zionist orchestra something or other...

In MS if I have my "enhanced" permit I can carry ANYWHERE except a courthouse or somewhere court is in session or federal buildings, i think...

hell no. think about it. there's a guy shooting up a packed movie theater, in the dark, also filled with smoke. you're telling me that the average CCW permit holder will have the ability to calmly assess the situation, identify the potential threat(s) and then take them all out without injuring anyone else? i'd say no and the last thing you'd want is someone killing more innocent people while attempting to save those innocent people. you've had military training and could probably deal with something like that, but i'd say the average CCW holder is gonna cause more harm than good.

So searching didn't turn up anything but with a permit is there a limit on size of handgun you can carry. Like could I carry a DE .50 if I wanted (not like im going too cause all I have is a DE .44 lol) or are you limited to say a 9mm or smaller.

Reason I ask is cause my dad wants me to buy his colt delta elite 10mm.

State website has no info on this and I have no knowledge of handguns I'm a shotgun, AR guy.

Get a permit from another state!

Utah or Florida permits are issued to non-residents. Get one. Then look up the reciprocity. You might be surprised to find how many states you can carry in with those two permits.
