craigslist is your friend if you want something cheap. I got mine off there from a guy that closed a company down. nice and fast and still only 200 bucks

I have an extra PC that I would sell you. It is a HP, P4 3GHz, 2.5GB RAM, 250GB hard drive, XP Pro. It will come with a mouse and keyboard, but no monitor. $100 + shipping and it is yours.

if you dont i will!....lol

shoot, I will throw in a HP 17" LCD flat screen monitor for $60 extra. Or I will upgrade the hard drive to a 500GB Seagate Barracuda for $55 extra as well. I will even be nice and include Microsoft Office '08 Pro.

It will be a fresh install of XP pro. The PC also comes with all the restore CD's from HP.

Everybody's lining up for this PC Shady.

You better jump on it.

If the ones in front of me bow out, I'll take it! :D

Just the PC please. :icon_thumby:

you aint gonna beat that deal shady--if you have to, whore yourself out for $100 and buy that thing, cause thats what i plan on doing if i get a chance at it.....

www.newegg.com is my fav place for computers + parts

macs are so expensive for what you get. it's like buying a lexus to me - just a rebadged toyota.

i'm running a $600 vista HP laptop and i've enjoyed it a lot. zero crashes or problems for six months (knock on wood). It's not screaming or anything, but it's got plenty of power for me and won't balk at the stuff i'm doing with it

Only $100...and you're in IN...heck, I could drive down and back and even with the cost of gas and buying you a case of beer I'd still be ahead of buying one here in Canada...

Just have to figure out how to explain it at the border...ummm...I'm doing a repair for someone...

Thanks for the offer, but not what I'm looking for. Seems you have plenty of customers anyway.:)shady

Well, I'm not in the habit of "whoring myself out," but if that is your bag, go for it.shady

I always hear good things about mac. but Ive yet to purchase one. I have alot of fun building custom machines. I build mine and installed liquid cooling.

My latest build is kinda old but others ive built are way nice.
-Asus m2n board+ amd 9850 cpu liquid cooled
-2 msi nx7900gs cards
-4gig corsair xms2 soon to be 8g
-Sound Blaster Gamer fataliy card or w/e it's
-3 dvd burners. Set it up to make xbox 360 game disc copies.
-1 22" samsung wd and 1 19"monitor cool cause u split the cards and have two monitors on to split the desktop.
-2 80g hds
not the nicest but rock solid.

I wana get the 9800gt x2 off newegg there only 129$ now and there 4x the cards I got.

Ive made many Mark and its always been cheaper than already made ones:P go to newegg you will save tons trust me its well worth it lol u get 4 gigs of ram for 40$ come on now a local retail shop couldnt do better imo. not dissin u tho just sayin :P the 9800gts are now down to 125$ get an sli board and you can run dual monitors if your a power user or w/e lol I do its worth it. you can multi-task to your hearts content. But my sys is a lil overkill. If you are in Wa state id love to help you build one show you the ropes etc etc it's easy and once you learn you will save money in the long run. And yes there are some cheap ones but I would suggest spending a lil more money if you are on it alot.

If you only need a basic pc it's hard to beat the low end prebuilt prices (though a custom will usually have better quality parts). If you need anything more than a web browser media pc then it building your own starts to really pay off. I personally build my own as I'm a pc gamer and just like tinkering.

And you don't need SLI to run dual monitors. Pretty much any video card you can get today will run dual monitors.

No way! Macs are definatly the way to go.... My computer is 6 years old and i have NEVER EVER had a problem with it. Not to sound like a creep, but i look at alot of bad sites and i havent ever gotten a bug. When i saw that i treat my computer badly... i mean BADLY. Even if i went out a bought a brand new mac for $1400, i would have it for the next 7-9 years and still be better than most PCs that are coming out.

Mac came out with a new operating system my 4th year in college, the one before that was my junior year of HIGHSCHOOL.... I have not gotten the new OS on mine but it is STILL up to par!:icon_thumby:

Yeah, I know (or knew of) plenty of people still running OS 9...as long as your peripherals hold up and you don't need to upgrade for anything else they usually still work...only when the HDD goes south or you try to add something of a more recent nature will you run into problems...

I'm still running Win2K on mine...but that is a considerably more supported OS than even OS X.2...

Shady: Did you get what you needed out of this thread or are you still wondering???
