Thanks alot joey!Computer in a 1990 is for the Engine size that is in the vehicle, and its options, i.e. Cam sensor and EGR valve
So yes, if it had a Ranger engine, i.e. 4.0l OHV then Ranger computer might work just fine
Not familiar with the E-series engines or model years
1994 Ranger was the last year for the EEC-IV 60-wire computers, 1995 and up got the EEC-V 104-wire computers, so not interchangeable, lol, even with same engine size
If you go here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_E-Series
I am not seeing any crossover engines between Ranger and E-series, so no a Ranger computer would not work
This one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Engine-Cont...660989&hash=item3d43d1ca34:g:CccAAOSwI0RZfws~
Is for the 4.9l inline 6 engine, so fits/works with Bronco, E-series and F-series Ford trucks with a 4.9l engine
You also have to watch manual or automatic transmissions, computers are setup differently for each, 1990 automatics NEED computer control to work correctly
Automatic trans computer will turn on Check Engine light and cause odd idles and engine operation if used in a manual vehicle, no automatic hooked up so it looks for one, constantly, lol.
