computer compatability with mods

i want to give my 3.0 a little more passing power. i want to do the 1.7 roller rockers and an intake as well as boring and honing my throttle body. is the computer going to adjust for these changes?

change the rear gear prolly less work and money. I dont know how many times this has been said the PCM is what it is they are tuned up from the factory to run optimal to an extent, all the bolt on stuff has little or no affect! The MAFS is matched to the PCM so any alteration to that will probably hurt not help(from experience) CHANGE THE REAR GEAR IF YOU WANT MORE THROTTLE RESPONSE AND ACCELERATION

You shouldn't need to have anything reprogrammed with those mods. If you get into heavy breathing mods like Porting/polishing, or forced induction, then you may need to buy a tuner. Personally, I'd recommend adding an X-cal 3 to your list anyway. It will hold 3 custom tunes that can be written to account for your specific mods. Most people that have one say it's one of the better mods for the 3.0.

Do the MAF mod, the hotwater bypass mod, the throttle cable mod, remove the snorkel from your airbox, install an electric radiator fan, and your truck will have all the passing power you need.

Do your mods, then clear the ecu and let it relearn everything. A tune is always the best option, but not needed with those mods.

Unplug the negative battery cable for 5-10 minutes.
