Ok, don't get upset, but this is for a 97 Taurus, 3.0 vulcan v6. (my mom's old station wagon, giving to my son, if i can fix.

I know it has ahead gasket leak, since it was blowing steam when It got parked 2 yrs ago.
Yesterday i put a new battery in it and tried to start. It cranked fine but no ignition. I heard a buzzing sound when key was on but not in start position, and traced it to the computer, that is mounted between the battery and the fender on drivers' side. Buzzing stops when in start position, but continues when in Accesory. I also noticed that the tac gauge was reading about 35000. (?)
I am assuming the electronic ignition system is basically the same as the one in a ranger.....

Why is it buzzing at the computer? I know it was replaced within about 8 mths of blowing the head gasket.
Any ideas?
Thanks for the help!

Wow, NO takers? Ok, I didn't give up.
First of all, my mistake. The component I was looking at that was buzzing behind the battery, was actually the CCRM ( constant control relay module). After much investigation, I discovered that :
1. The car is tooo low to the ground, (can't get under it with out jacking it way up!)
2. Wood Rats had moved in and chewed LOTS of wires....(THOSE DIRTY RATS!!!! )
3. BOY do I have a lot of sodering to do. (I dont use the crimps, they don't last from my experience)
4. My son will have to develope patience, or get involved. (I prefer the later).
5. Don't forget to use heat shrink tubing over the soders., Or at the very least, liquid tape.

There is also driver's side headlight chewed off at the connector, and the Cooling Fan Harness chewwed off at a connector, and an O2 censor chewed off at the sensor, and (2) fuel injectors chewed off at the connectors, and the Brake Master Cylinder sensor wires chewed in two, and .........
I have long hair, and REALLY am trying not to pull it OUT.............

HERE is where you have PITTY on me.........

Repys are expected like...
dude that sucks, glad I'm not you, ECT>>>>>>>

Sounds like you've got a bit of work ahead of you, and I hope it goes smoothly for you.

EVER WONDER WHY RATS CHEW OFF WIRES AT AN END NEXT TO A CONNECTOR, AND NOT IN THE MIDDLE WHERE IT'S EASY TO REPAIR?

Can't figure why they chew wires in the first place.....copper must taste really good to them. I'm sure it's great in their stomachs.
I've been repairing wires for two days now. It's really unbelievable the extent of the damage. I think I'm close to finishing, though. (gonna have a certain level of expertise when this is over, I think)

I did manage to get it running. Still has a blown head gasket, but at least it runs. I'm currently repairing the headlight harness. It's not easy to access on a Taurus, especially where it got chewed up on both sides of the engine bay......
