On my 99 2.5L; in what I assume is the fuel return "pluming"; the tubing from the injection "system" passes through a component mounted in the engine compartment, drivers side, near the fender edge.

Other than the fuel inlet & outlet nipples, there is a vacuum line (possibly a vacuum shut-off valve?); there is an electrical connector, and a knurled "cap", or "knob" on top

Pardon my ignorance, but I've scoured the web, including forums, parts sites-Ford & Rock Auto; plus my useless Chilton manual: and I can't find any reference to this device, as to what it does; and if it requires any periodic maintenance?

Best regards,
Leigh

If it goes bad, your Check Engine Light will come on and a code will be stored.

If it isn't broken, don't fix it.
