column shifter remove/eliminate? 1993

Can't find a write up on this. We will be doing this as part of my auto to manual change over, any advice on this will help! Thanks!
 
One thing to do if you keep the automatic column is to make sure that the shift collar is set in the park position and locked in place. You will get a no crank issue if it moves.

A buddy of mine found this out after removing the linkage on a car to use in a demolition derby. The engine quit and he couldn't restart. Found out the collar had moved after he looked into it further

I could find a steering column from a manual shift truck would the be less hassle?
