Column to Console shifter

This might be a dumb question to you all,but here goes. Is it possible to convert a column shift to a console shift.

There are aftermarket universal floor/console mount 5 speed automatic shifters available but they aren't cheap and would require some custom bracket/mounting. no idea what oem ford stuff would or could work. Personally I think its a terrible idea and a waste of precious space but could be interesting.

I've got a like new Lokar floor shifter for sale but it's for an AOD, and as the previous poster said, it ain't cheap.

WTF you trying to store on top of the trans tunnel man? Anything there that isn't bolted down just goes flying as soon as you turn a corner.

My vhf radio, cup holders, ash tray, spare change, bag of 7-11 beef jerky, gatorade bottle full of pee, on occasion children's feet... Lots of things fit there with no shifter in the way.
