Coleman Liquid Fuel

Here's the lanterns, I know the pictures I took the other night aren't great... will go through my others in the garage soon and get them all in the same place so I can get them mounted on the shop wall somewhere...

Hmmm... I don't have FB but I would be curious of the actual date stamp on that. If it is 9/62... I would be tempted. Actually... it would be mine.

Looks like an 02 62. Your money is safe.

Not the first 200A I have seen listed for that kinda money.

It is clean but not super perfect either.

200A vs a new one... although single burner it is still probably heavier than a 288.

Food for thought, with half as many mantles and on half as much fuel it puts out 2/3 the light of a duel mantle lantern...

They are neat, I wish they were more common. I imported mine from Shran a few years ago, by the time I got it here and got it running it was no bargain... still cheaper than anything I have seen listed around here.

This is probably the last trip I do with my 508. It's messed with my morning coffee for the last time.

I have replaced the generator twice now and after a couple runs it drips fuel from the control lever.

I hope it gets me through the next few days and then I'm gonna try to find a good older single burner and look into cleaning up one of a couple old two burners I have in storage.

Found this possum under my covers... he says he likes biscuits too.

We’re out running parts of the Wyoming BDR with the usual group right now… of course I took some Coleman stuff, including my newest score, a single burner stove box. It’s pretty cool, triples as a pot and a as skillet. I’ve been trying to find one for years, finally a pawn shop hooked me up for $15.

I took a few pictures of som of the lanterns. Do the numbers on the bottom indicate the year the lantern was made?

Month and year. Old old ones use a different system to figure their age.

It is kind of "a thing" for collectors to track down a lantern made the same month/year you were born.

But they didn't run continuously so it may nor always be possible.

Got into kind of a weird deal yesterday.

Found a decent looking big hat listed with two stoves and a newer lantern on FB marketplace for $45. I inquire and go look at it. I offered $30 and he declined, says all of it for $60 he just wants it gone. I counter with I don't have $60 on me so he asks what I can offer. I only have $44 on me... he said deal.

Then he says "I have something else for you too" and comes back out of the garage with this.

Only one stove has fuel, both run great with that one fount. One was made in 66 and the other in 74. Might gift them to my cousin's kids... haven't decided yet.

The one I was really after is in pretty good shape, made 11/59 228E and is now the oldest one in my collection. I have always liked the tall vent ones but they are hard to find around here.

Good finds! I love those stoves.

I passed on a really dirty ‘56 228 lantern last week that was $15. I couldn’t get the fuel cap off and usually that has been a bad sign… if it’s still there next time I’m in Spearfish I might snag it though just to clean up and resell. Camping gear has been selling really slowly this year though.

I've noticed prices have really dropped.

Fuel cap came off this one and while it doesn't built pressure it had a little pressure in the tank and everything moves.

That funnel in the box will display nice.
