Coleman Liquid Fuel

About a month ago, saw a 426 on Marketplace. Didn't want to drive an hour for a $40 stove even though I wanted a 3 burner. A few days ago, they dropped the price to $30. So I made arrangements and picked it up this morning. I figured $30 plus $20 for fuel in the truck was OK. Dated 2/77. Slight rust in the bottom and needs a good cleaning. Tank is full. Valve operates, eccentric lever turns and pump built pressure on the first 2 or 3 pumps. Haven't tried to light it yet.

Weird Canadian stuff... COOL!

Going thru grandpa's estate stuff yesterday dad found a Coleman lamp I never knew they had with a white glass shade. Uncle wanted it so I didn't get it.

@Jim Oaks might want to borrow that heater at the trail ride... actually we all could have used it last time. It was a little burrrrr in the morning... unless of course... you were in the high dollar section glamping.

I don't think I've seen that style heater in my neck of the woods.

You going to get them fired up and functional?

Coleman had a factory in Canada, most of the stuff they made there was unique to the Canadian market.

Look closer at that 421 stove, it almost looks smaller than the 425 common to the US and the windscreens are different too.

I had an old Econoline Sportsmobile camper van that had a propane catalytic heater mounted on the end of the cabinet by the double side doors.

Had a bad dry spell on coleman stuff, everything is like $50+ anymore.

But I did find this:

With the box and bail:

Box is cool too:

Fun Fact: If you spill any 1970's Avon Wild Country Cologne on your hands in the car... hand sanitizer won't touch it.

Ha! Is that Burt Reynolds on the box, in the cowboy hat? That's a cool accessory.

"Gasoline mantle lantern"!!!
How things have changed!

The stuff coleman lanterns run on used to be "gasoline" like what cars used.

Pump gas evolved, coleman fuel didn't. They do make Coleman stuff that runs on pump gas too (although the normal stuff will for quite awhile before the generators plug up with additives)

They guy I got the Avon lantern from had a nice 220J but I didn't have enough cash at the time. So I swung over today and nabbed it. He had a 220F too but I passed on it, the price wasn't super awesome for what it is was and I already have a nice one.

It has the box, manual and warranty card too. Probably why it is in pretty good shape too.

Looks like it is from @Uncle Gump's neck of the woods.

That Kmart must not have fared well... that address is now a Lowe's.

Anyway it pumps up and spits fuel like it will run. I don't have a nice J and I for sure don't have anything with an amber globe.
