Does anybody know of any sites to find a cold air intake for 93 ford rangerxlt?
i would perfer k&N. and what other years will fit this model
?

Do you want true cold air, or do you just want something to look cool?

i wouldnt go with k&n if u do a cold air as k&n rob milage and have to be cleaned after u hit a dirt road or else it gets clogged

Just do a drop in k&n filter. Same result as a "cold air intake"

Clean it when it gets dirty, re oil, boom. Never have to buy a filter again.

I drive gravel roads and dirt roads all the time. Had 20,000 miles on my filter before it needed a cleaning.

Look up a company by the name TruFlow. Had one on a Chevy I had and it works great. The filter medium is an inch and a half of foam with a coating of oil through out. You keep your air box but loose all the restrictive factory duct work.

What is restrictive about the factory tubing........

Nothing.
CAI kits are a huge waste of money on rangers. And many other vehicles.
Just get a better filter.

To answer you question, no one that I know of makes one that is a direct bolt-on.

That being said, I used a K&N kit for a 95 Explorer, in conjunction with an intake tube from a 95 Ex (sourced from a junkyard.) I fabricated a bracket to mount the MAF, and it worked great for about 15 years.

Now, I'm using the same filter on my V8 conversion (albeit with a newly fabricated MAF bracket.)

Two things - before going off-road with a K&N (or any air filter, really) you should put a pre-filter over the filter. It traps most of the dirt that will clog the filter.

Second, your paper filter gets dirty while off-road, too.

Not trying to start an argument, just saying all air filters get dirty.

I disagree.

I put a CAI kit on my '06, and could tell a slight difference. The engine seems to run free-er - less restriction on input air flow allows the engine to spin up quicker.

scott b u are correct but i have had nothing but trouble with k&n nd so have a few other ppl, like when i took it off after the first week i found dirt sitting at the lip where u hook the filter on, plus if u do a search u will see, now i have heard decent reviews about the drop in style but still nothing to great

I love my k&n drop in.... Never have to buy another filter again.
Super easy to clean and reoil.

You must be special if you have issues.

6.2 did u not even read what i wrote i never said i have used a drop in i said i have heard from other ppl, i was talking about cone filters, if u look at most cold air intake setups they run to a cone filter not a drop in, so must be special if u cant understand

Move to Canada...instant cold air intake...in fact, you could take as much of the cold air as you like with you...but not all of it...especially at night...I like it cooler when I'm sleeping...

Yup, that's kinda what they are there for. To get dirty, so that other things farther down the line don't.

Dyno sheets or GTFO.

I'm sorry, any "slight difference" and the "engine runs freer" is probably just psychosomatic.
