Okay I have looked everywhere for a cold air intake for my 92 3.0L ranger and I cant find one anywhere! So anyone know where I can get one or ideas on what I could do? Thanks

okay then cool well I reckon ill have to make one myself. Did your friend have good results?

he only put a cone filter on the MAF and left the piping the same because hes a lazy ass, but you still get the growl from the intake.

Look under the hood, and you'll find one.

Ford put one on your truck back in 1992.

Sheesh, even my 1988/89 bronco IIs had stock cold air intake. Why dont people realize this?

Adding a cone under your hood like that is not a cold air intake, as stated you are talking about drawing air from right beside a HOT engine.

Check where your intake pick-up is... On my Broncos its beside the passenger headlight, beside the radiator - at the front of the car where it actually picks up air thats not inside the hot engine bay.

i dont think they belong on ALL engines, but i do run a "hot air intake" on my BII. it was damn sluggish with the stock airbox, putting that cone filter on there is one of the best things i've done to it and it only costs $20 every few years to replace

now that i have a welder, i'm gonna fab up a box to contain the filter and pull in cold air from outside

if you do put a cone filter on it make sure it is away from the heat, use a metal plate and some insulation and you'll be golden. Just need to find a goood spot for it.

It is true that you already have a CAI, but this could be a fun project and of course a nice way to add some nice noise to complement an exhaust system. dont expect too much power but do expect a bit better throttle response, and rev response when you wanna make some noise haha.

just bought used one for my 2000 ranger ( 3.0 ) it bolts right in my old filter box
