hey I just got rubber coil spring spacers for my truck and when I tried to install them they wouldn't go in. the coil springwould just bend. I also tried to install them on top if that helps. any ideas on how to fix it?

unfortunately I didn't take any pics but what happened was I put the spacer on top of the spring and when I tried to put it in the spring wouldn't sit in the groove it would just bend
