Put the truck on jack stands, remove wheel, remove brake caliper and tie it up, remove shock, remove bolt on the top of the spindle that holds the ball joint of the upper control arm. Remove ABS sensor, can't remember if removing the tie rod end joint is necessary, but it wouldn't hurt. Then let the lower control arm all the way to the ground, and the spring will come right out. I rented a spring compressor tool when I put my coil spacers in, and it helped by not having to let the lower control arm down quite as far.
