Are they mandatory? Im putting in new lift coils today and dont have the insulator that they sit on and cant seem to find one in town.

I've taken coils out of 3 trucks; 2 rangers and a f-150. They all had isolators, but each seemed to be different material. One of which looked like it was made from the same material as 1/4" to 3/8" thick tire sidewall [this was on the f-150]. I'd try to make some out of an old tire 'till you can get the proper ones. Probably wouldn't hurt too much to run without for a short while, tho I think it might be a little noisy.

:icon_idea: Now that I think on it , I think it's a noise isolator

well if it wasn't in there to begin with it might be gtg without it. unless it was noisy before

It was there originally but i removed it when i put on my spacers and lost one of them. Im putting on lift coils today and thats why i was wondering. Luckily, the ford parts distribution warehouse had one and i managed to hang on to one of the originals so im good now.
